L. Manlius Torquatus, 82 BC. Denarius (Silver, 16 mm, 3.92 g, 12 h), with L. Cornelius Sulla. Military mint moving with Sulla. [L•MANLI] - PRO Q Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. L•SVLLA•IMP Sulla driving triumphal quadriga to right, holding branch and scepter: above, Victory flying left, crowning him with laurel wreath. Babelon (Manlia) 7 and (Cornelia) 42. Crawford 367/3. RBW 1384. Sydenham 759. Beautifully toned. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
